Senior Azure Data Engineer – Information Factory Payments
Do you want to help our Company to achieve her strategic goals and make the right decisions based on data? Then working at the Information Factory Payments(IFP) is the right place for you. IFP is an important data warehouse within our company that processes enormous amounts of payments data on a daily basis, from which valuable information products are created. We serve our business partners, who seek insights and overview of their products and processes and we are responsible for external reporting to regulators or other organisations.

For example:
• Dashboards for product managers to assist them in product development and tapping into new markets;
• Report functionality that can be used by local banks to fetch information;
• Regulatory reporting to the Dutch National Bank and the Dutch Tax Authority.

Job description
As an Azure Data Engineer you are working on the back-end side of all this. You bridge the gap between raw data and meaningful insights and you ensure that our organisation can efficiently use this information.

You are responsible for the development and implementation of new functionality in our system. You will work together with other developers, testers, and business analysts to refine new functionality and think about the best implementation. You will start creating new ETL processes from scratch to fetch data, integrate it into our data warehouse and prepare it to be used in front-end reporting.

Besides development, you are also involved in data governance and security, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and taking action upon that if necessary. Think about solving high priority issue’s in our production environment or performance optimization to improve our loading time!

As a Senior Azure Data Engineer within Information Factory Payments these are your top priorities:
• You take a leading role for development activities within the department. You are able to guide junior colleagues, present complex solutions in an understandable way and you are willing to take initiative to improve the way of working, technical configurations and the alignment between the development teams.
• Development and implementation of new functionality in the Information Factory Payments.
• Support the Operations Engineers in root-cause analysis and provide the correct solutions when high priority incidents occur.
• You are able to support our solution architect to design future-proof, effective, and efficient solutions for new requirements.

To do this we expect you have the following skills:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer / DWH Developer in an complex IT landscape;
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
• Expert in ETL development including proven experience with Azure Data Factory;
• Expert in RDBMS, SSMS and writing SQL query’s;
• Knowledge and experience in GIT;
• Knowledge and experience in data modelling, preferably dimensional modelling;
• Knowledge and experience with configuring and managing Azure resources;
• Knowledge and experience in Azure Databricks;
• Highly pro-active and motivated personality, you show initiative and take ownership;
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written English;
• Bachelor or Master’s degree related to computer science.

Preferable skills:
• Microsoft PowerBI;
• Python;
• You speak and understand Dutch.
