Our company is in the process of transforming into a modern software development organization, using the scale and innovation benefits offered by public cloud services. This transition requires knowledge, an open attitude and cultural change within the organization.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure services, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Automation, and Azure DevOps. This role requires expertise in scripting with PowerShell, managing cloud- and IT costs, and implementing FinOps principles. Familiarity with Azure Resource Graph and Power BI is highly desirable. This position will play a critical role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and enhancing our data-driven decision-making capabilities.

As a FinOps cloud specialist you make impact by:
• Engage with and advise Tech & IT leaders to invest resources to savings opportunities
• Engage with and advise DevOps and Engineering teams to realize savings opportunities
• Contribute to automation around cloud spend insight and optimization through requirements definition and design
• Identify cloud adoption plans and incorporate these into forecast
• Build cloud cost forecasting models across multiple cloud providers, building a reliable cloud cost forecast spanning multiple years based on a foundation of the business cloud adoption strategy and plans which incorporate variables such as

technical initiatives to optimize cloud cost expenses
• Manage monthly cloud financial analysis process, creating monthly cloud cost reports and working with Finance teams to incorporate into budgets and accruals
• Track progress on initiatives around cloud spend optimization
• Maintain and share in depth knowledge of cloud savings opportunities
• Design and deploy infrastructure using Bicep ARM templates as part of our IaC approach.
• Design, develop, and maintain pipelines and dataflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management tasks using Azure Automation and PowerShell scripts.
• Implement and maintain Azure Cost Management tools to monitor and optimize expenditures.
• Apply FinOps strategies to achieve financial accountability in the cloud and IT spending lifecycle.
• Utilize Azure Resource Graph and Query Language to manage and analyze Azure resources effectively.
• Develop, configure, and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI (optional).
• Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and other integrations using Azure DevOps.
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices and company security policies.

In addition, it is important that you recognize everything on the checklist below:

• Bachelor or master’s degree in business economics or IT
• Preferably in possession of the FinOps Foundation certifications (FinOps Certified Practitioner and/or FinOps Certified Professional)
• Deep conceptual knowledge of (Azure) cloud resources
• In possession of the Cloud service Providers solution architect certifications (AZ-305 and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• 2+ years of experience with Cloud provider technology services
• Experience with and interest to expand knowledge on cloud spend analysis
• Experience using Power BI, Cloud native cost reporting tools (AWS or Azure)
• Experience creating and maintaining Power BI reports, dataflows (in possession of PL-300)
• Experience with Data-modelling, Power Query, DAX
• Analytical skills to collect, coordinate and present sophisticated data to a variety of audiences
• Ability to present reports and insights in a user-friendly manner (UX)
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
• Proficient cost management knowledge including trending and variance analysis and forecasting
